The Rooftop Hideaway is a simple and affordable furnished apartment located on the top floor of an Haussmann-inspired Bourgeois apartment building, close to the centre of Beziers. It will ideally suit a single person or couple looking for cheap long term rentals in the South of France. The apartment comes with access to a large covered outdoor space and has a double bedroom, kitchen-diner and bathroom. The apartment has air conditioning and a small private balcony at the rear.
Béziers is increasingly popular with international residents thanks to its warm Mediterranean climate, excellent transport connections and wealth of shops, restaurants and everyday services. The Mediterranean beaches are approximately 10km away, while the surrounding countryside is filled with vineyards, traditional wine villages and walking and cycling routes.
The apartment is available for rentals of between 3 and 12 months from €500 per month + bills.

The Rooftop Hideaway apartment – facilities
The apartment is situated on the fourth floor and is accessed by four flights of stairs. There is no lift, so it will not be suitable for tenants with restricted mobility or anyone who would find the stairs difficult.
Ground floor
- There is an impressive communal entrance to the apartment, with large wrought-iron doors, an ornate ceiling and stone walls and marble flooring.
- A sweeping stone staircase with decorative iron balustrades leads to the upper floors.
Fourth floor
- Access to the communal roof terrace is controlled by a lockable door (which only the apartment building residents and maintenance staff have access to). The apartment has its own secure front door.
- You enter into the double bedroom which is furnished with a chest of drawers, bedside cabinets and a small hanging space.
- The open plan kitchen-diner has an air conditioning unit. There is a dining table which can seat 2-4 people and there is a small sideboard.
- The kitchen comes equipped with a microwave-combi oven, an induction hob, extractor fan, sink and a fridge.
- The bathroom is fitted with a wash basin, walk-in shower and WC.
Outside
- The apartment has direct access to a very large covered roof terrace. Outdoor furniture and potted plants could make the terrace a pleasant additional living area during spring, summer and early autumn.
- At the rear of the apartment, 2 sets of French windows lead out from the kitchen-diner onto a small private balcony.
- The apartment doesn't come with a parking space. However, there is street parking and car parks in the neighbourhood.

The apartment is available for rentals of 3 months to 12 months (although full 12 month rental periods are preferred). The prices quoted are based on a 12 month rental period. Higher prices may apply to shorter rental periods. In addition to the rent, there is a monthly provision of €100 towards the electricity, water and Wi-Fi. Due to the location of the apartment on the 4th floor, it is probably not best-suited to pets.

Last visited: August 2026. The Rooftop Hideaway occupies a good location in a pleasant residential part of Béziers, approximately 10 minutes’ walk from the city centre. Beziers is a great location for a long term rental in South France. It has excellent transport connections, with a local airport, TGV train station and 2 motorways passing close-by. The Mediterranean beaches are just 10 km away and the city is surrounded by vineyards in all directions. The apartment provides practical furnished accommodation at a very reasonable monthly rent. It would be best suited to a single person looking for an inexpensive base in the South of France, although it could also accommodate a couple, provided they are comfortable with the relatively simple accommodation.
Please note that the apartment is on the fourth floor and there is not an elevator in the apartment building.

Area activities
There is so much to do in Beziers, from strolling along the beautiful alleyways of the Old Town and shopping in the small shops or visiting one of the many restaurants, go to the theater or visit Friday´s flower market or Saturday´s antique market. During the summer, the city is buzzing with activities with various festivals and music events.
The Mediterranean coast is a short drive or bus journey away and offers fantastic beaches, ranging from wild beaches in Serignan and Vendres to chic promenades in Grau d´Agde and Valras plage.
Beziers, is the capital of the World´s largest wine regions and most of the local wineries are open to visitors and you can try their wines. A tour of the region´s villages is also recommended.
Pezenas which is a fantastic little town with a rich cultural life inspired by Moliere, has a large market every Saturday and a food & wine festival every Friday night during July and August. Pezenas has over 60 antique shops and over 30 restaurants.
Agde is one of France´s oldest cities and lies at the river Herault´s outflow. The town has some nice restaurants and beautiful beaches. Cap Agde has the Mediterranean´s largest marina and there is plenty of activities from water sports to amusement parks and an excellent golf course.
Other transport
There is a fast TGV train from Paris direct to Beziers, that takes about 4 hours.
Airports
Beziers airport is very easy to get to, direct flights with Ryanair from Bristol, Edinburgh, London Luton, Stansted, Manchester and Stockholm (Skavsta).
Montpellier Airport is 35 kilometers away and has several routes to Sweden and Copenhagen with Norwegian Air and to the UK with Easyjet (Bristol, Gatwick and Luton).
Driving directions
Beziers is well connected to the local motorway network, with both the A75 and A9 motorways joining just west of the town.
