Côte Sud is a charming 1 bed cottage for long term rentals, set in the heart of the village of Portiragnes, close to Beziers and the Mediterranean coast. Portiragnes is an excellent location for a long term stay in South France, with the beaches just 4km from the house. You can cycle or walk along the towpath of the Canal du Midi to reach Portiragnes Plage.
The cottage comes with a well-equipped kitchen, 2 bathrooms, a terrace and spacious lounge. There is plenty of free parking in the centre of Portiragnes.
The cottage is available for long term rentals between November to March and June to September, from €700 per month + bills. Well-trained pets may be accepted, through prior agreement of the Owners.

The cottage is located on a small pedestrian street, right in the heart of the village. The property is laid out over 3 floors.
Ground floor
You enter the cottage into the main living space.
- The kitchen comes equipped with an oven, hob, large fridge-freezer, washing machine, Espresso machine, kettle, toaster and air fryer. There is a full set of plates, cutlery, glasses and cooking utensils.
- There is a small dining table that can seat 4 people.
- The lounge area has an armchair, sofa and there is a TV (with internet TV channels). There is 5G internet.
First floor
- The main bedroom comes with a double bed, large wardrobe and bedside tables.
- The bathroom is fitted with a bath with overhead shower, wash basin and WC.
Second floor
On the top floor there is a bright and airy lounge area and bathroom, which leads out onto the roof terrace.
- The lounge comes with a sofa and armchair, with additional storage/occasional sleeping on the mezzanine level. The sofa also folds out to form a double bed for guests.
- There is a bathroom with shower and wash basin.
- The roof terrace is totally private and is a great space for sitting out in the sunshine and enjoying an al fresco meal. There is a small summer kitchen, with sink and hot plate.
Long term rentals near the beach South France - prices
The cottage is available for long term rentals during November to March and June and September. Higher rates apply to the summer period. The minimum stay is usually 3 months. In addition to the rent, there is a monthly provision of €170 towards the utility bills (electricity, water and Wi-Fi). The Wi-Fi is provided on a pre-paid basis and it is possible to select higher GB capacity, especially if you are working remotely. For rentals in excess of 3 months, the rent can be paid monthly (otherwise the rent should be paid in advance prior to arrival).

Côte Sud long term rentals by the beach France - Our opinion
Last visited: October 2026. This is the ideal location for a single person or couple to spend a few months in the South of France, close to the Mediterranean beaches. The cottage is well set-up for a long term stay, with fast internet, a lovely roof terrace and shops and restaurants within walking distance. The city of Beziers is just down the road and Beziers airport is just 3km from the cottage. Portiragnes Plage is just 4km from the cottage and is the ideal place for walking your dog along the beach during the winter period.

Area activities
Portiragnes village is located 4km inland from the Mediterranean coast and 10 mins from the city of Beziers. The village is surrounded by vineyards and built around its 12th-century church, with narrow streets and traditional stone houses giving it a distinct character. The village has a great boulangerie (bakers) for fresh baguettes and there is also a medical centre, school, pharmacy, a few shops (including a Carrefour Market), a weekly market, restaurants and several local wine producers. A fantastic restaurant to visit is ´Mon Reve d´Enfant´. You will also find Café de la Mairie just up the road.
There are additional shops and large supermarkets in nearby Vias and Béziers, with Béziers providing everything you would expect from a substantial regional town.
There is a local wine co-operative (La Campestre), where you can try the fine local wines. The Sauvignon and Vigneron wines are especially good.
The Canal du Midi passes beside the village, providing attractive towpaths for walking and cycling, while Portiragnes-Plage and its long sandy Mediterranean beaches are only a few kilometres away. Portiragnes-Plage becomes a lively Mediterranean resort during the summer, with restaurants, beach bars, markets and activities, while the old village provides a more traditional, year-round base. Seasonal markets are held both in the village and at the beach.
Other transport
There is a TGV train station in Beziers (10 Kilometres). There is a local bus service that runs between Portiragnes and Beziers.

It is very easy to get to this Portiragnes house to rent in France. Beziers airport is just up the road (3km). Other local airports include:

Driving directions
Portiragnes is located in between Beziers and the coast. The A9 and A75 motorways can be reached in 5 mins. Portiragnes is located on the D37 road, which leads from Beziers down to Portiragnes Plage.
One month deposit to be paid at time of reservation (this will become the security deposit for your stay). Rent to be paid in advance on the first day of the month (for rentals of 3 months or less, the rent is to be paid in full prior to arrival). The utility bills are to be paid in addition to the monthly rent. There is a monthly provision of €150 towards the utility bills. Minimum stay is normally 3 months. Pets maybe accepted through prior agreement of the Owners (limited to one medium size dog).
