This modern eco house for rent long term in South France, comes with 2 bedrooms, a comfortable living room and a large wooden terrace with impressive views towards the Pyrenees. The house was built in 2021 and benefits from high quality insulation which requires little if any heating. The house has large south-facing windows which draw in heat to the house.
The house is located in the small hamlet close to the village of Félines-Minervois and near to the popular Cathar village of Minerve - listed as one of the most beautiful villages in France. Carcassonne is 35 mins drive and Narbonne is 40 mins. The house has a small plunge pool and low maintenance garden. There is parking for 2 cars.
The house is available for long term rentals between October to May from €800 per month + bills. Minimum stay is normally 3 months.

The house is stylishly furnished inside and comes with high quality fixtures and fittings. The design of the house was based on passive solar heating principles, which requires little or no heating throughout the year.
- The living room is simply furnished with a sofa and an armchair. There is a back-up wall heater (but this is rarely used). The full-height sliding patio doors provide access out to the terrace where there is a dining table and easy chairs.
- The kitchen comes equipped with a Samsung induction hob, Bosch fan oven, compact dishwasher, large fridge/freezer and microwave. There is also a washing machine in the house (and access to a clothes dryer can be arranged).
- Bedroom 1 comes with a double bed, open hanging clothes storage and large sliding windows which provide access onto the terrace
- Bedroom 2 is also fitted with a double bed and open hanging clothes storage and has lovely views and access to the terrace.
- The bathroom has a walk-in shower, double wash basins and a WC.
- There is a separate second WC with hand basin.
Outside
- The south-facing terrace is a great space for dining & relaxing. A second dining table is available for the terrace. There are stunning views of the Pyrenees and the local hamlet.

The house can be rented on a monthly basis between October to May. Utility bills are to be paid in addition to the rent. Due to the high energy efficiency of the property, the bills average around €100 per month. The Owner may consider an all inclusive price. Minimum stay is normally 3 months. Pets may be considered by the Owner (usually limited to one small dog).

Eco house for rent in South France - our opinion
If you are looking for a quiet and relaxing base for a few months in the South of France, then this stunning modern property in the hamlet close to Félines-Minervois is an ideal choice. The house is surrounded by some beautiful walks and you will never tire of the views from the terrace towards the snow-capped Pyrenees 80kms in the distance. There is a local shop, stocking locally grown organic vegetables, wine and bread etc, and there is an award-winning restaurant in the neighbouring village, 2km away. The nearby village of Rieux-Minervois has a good range of shops, supermarkets and facilities (including a newly built swimming pool). A weekly street market in Olonzac is only 15 mins by car. Carcasonne and Narbonne can each be reached in 40 mins drive and the Mediterranean coast is 50 mins.

The house is located on the edge of a small hamlet (Camplong) which is 5 mins from the village of Félines-Minervois. In the village of Felines-Minervois, there is a cafe-bar which serves meals and drinks, as well as a local store. The local area is called the Minervois and is celebrated throughout France as producing some of the best wines, especially from the vineyards close to La Livinière.
Close to the hamlet there is a small lake (Barrage de Camplong), perfect for wild swimming. The popular Cathar village of Minerve is close-by and this is listed as one of the most beautiful villages in France.
The city of Carcassonne is 20 mins drive and here you will find a good range of shops, restaurants and services, as well as a mainline train station. Carcassonne also has an international airport, with all year round flights to the UK and Ireland. The famous castle in Carcassonne, is the second most-visited historical monument in France.
The city of Narbonne is located close to the Mediterranean coast and is also a good place to visit for shopping or to eat at the famous Grand Buffet restaurant. The beaches around Narbonne are very nice, especially over the off season, when you normally have the beach to yourself.

Driving directions
The hamlet of Camplong is 5 mins from the village of Félines-Minervois. Just a short drive away and you can connect to the D11 main road which runs between Beziers and Carcassonne, with access down to the A61 and A9 motorways.
