The are 2 local motorways: the A9 which runs from Perpignan up to Paris and the A61 which connects the Mediterranean sea to the Atlantic coast. Narbonne also has easy access to 3 local airports (Beziers, Carcassonne and Perpignan) as well as being under 1 hour 30 mins from Toulouse, Montpellier and Girona airports.
Narbonne is a rugby mad town, with the local team playing in the French league 2.
The Mediterranean beaches are just 10km away from Narbonne and there are two beautiful beaches at Narbonne Plage and Gruissan Plage (the neighbouring town of Gruissan is a very pretty town). Other local places worth visiting are:

- Minerve - a former stronghold of the Cathars, this stunning village is about 25 mins North-West of Narbonne.
- Corbieres - a mountainous area south of Narbonne, famous for its excellent wines.
